Directory only, trade at your own risk
SteamTradeIndex is a directory, not a trading party, an escrow service, or a guarantor of any listed bot. Listings are reviewed before they go live, but we do not have 100% control over third-party Steam trades. Users must exercise caution and verify trade offers on their own, especially when dealing with Crypto-based trading bots. All trades are conducted at the user's own risk.
1. What SteamTradeIndex is
SteamTradeIndex ("we", "us", "the site") operates a public directory of third-party Steam trading bots, artwork designers, and related tools (including the Level-up Calculator). We index, display, and link to listings submitted by their owners. We do not own, operate, or control any listed bot, and we are not a party to any trade made with one.
2. No guarantee, no escrow, no recovery
We do not hold, escrow, or have custody of any item, key, currency, or Steam Trade Offer at any point. A trade you make with a listed bot is a transaction solely between you and that bot's operator. If a trade goes wrong, a bot fails to deliver, under-delivers, or turns out to be operated in bad faith, SteamTradeIndex cannot reverse the trade, recover your items, or compensate you for any loss. Steam trades are generally final and irreversible once accepted.
Listing review (including any paid listing fee, where applicable) is a deterrent and a moderation signal, not a certification, insurance policy, or warranty that a bot will behave honestly on every trade, forever. A bot approved today can be reconfigured, compromised, or sold to a new operator tomorrow without our knowledge.
3. Your responsibility when trading
- Read the trade offer in full before accepting it, item-for-item, not just the total.
- Confirm a bot's posted rate against what it actually sends in the trade.
- Be especially careful with crypto-based bots: cryptocurrency transfers are irreversible, there is no chargeback, and price volatility between quote and settlement is a real risk you bear.
- Never share your Steam account password, Steam Guard codes, or API key with a bot or another trader. We will never ask for them, and no legitimate bot needs them.
- If something looks wrong before trading, check our FAQ and tell us on the contact page.
4. Listings, moderation, and fees
Submitting a bot, banner ad, or designer listing does not guarantee approval. We may reject, suspend, or remove any listing at our discretion, including after it has gone live, for reasons such as inaccurate data, abuse reports, non-payment of a renewal, or suspected bad-faith trading. Where a listing is paid for with a time-boxed subscription (a bot listing or a banner ad), that payment buys visibility for the stated period, it does not buy a guarantee of trading outcomes, and it is not refundable once the subscription period has started.
5. Accounts
You sign in with your Steam account via Steam OpenID. You're responsible for activity under your account, including bots, designer listings, and ads you submit. We may suspend an account that violates these terms or Steam's own Subscriber Agreement.
6. API usage
API keys are issued for integrating your own bot's live data with the directory. We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke a key used for scraping unrelated to your own listings, abuse, or excessive load.
7. No financial advice
Nothing on SteamTradeIndex, including rate comparisons, the Level-up Calculator, or any currency conversion shown, is financial or investment advice. Rates are self-reported by bot operators and can be wrong, stale, or manipulated.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SteamTradeIndex and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including lost items, keys, Gems, cryptocurrency, or trading opportunity, arising from your use of a listed bot, the site, or its API. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use SteamTradeIndex after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised on the contact page.
